Pokémon Essentials is a game project made in RPG Maker XP that lets people make Pokémon-style games. It was created by Poccil, who based it on Flameguru's Pokémon Starter Kit. As of 10th July 2011, it is managed and updated by Maruno. Recently, it received a DMCA Takedown from Nintendo in 2017.
How it Works[]
Pokemon Essentials starts off as a base game that can be freely edited by manipulating the files or by using the editor. You need RPG Maker XP to change the script of the game if you want to add things such as new abilities and moves.

Pokemon Essentials will come packed with Pokemon from gens 1-5. (Gen 6 Pokemon and mechanics can be added by downloading these files here.)
